Members for the new Sequim Speaks advisory committee were chosen Monday night, subject to two final selections by absent Councilor Paul McHugh and formal ratification at a future meeting.

Sequim Speaks will be comprised of 12 to 19 members. Its boundaries will be those of the Sequim School District, divided into four quadrants by Sequim Avenue/Sequim-Dungeness Way and Washington Street.

Each quadrant will have at least three representatives, and the majority of the committee must be Sequim residents.

The council unanimously voted to appoint all nine Sequim residents to their respective quadrants. Then each of the councilors chose one name from the list of 28 people.

_ Northwest: The northwest quadrant's Sequim representatives are Patrick Thomson, Mary Miller, Halina Durso, John Durso and Dave Neidhardt. Then Councilor Erik Erichsen chose county resident Susan Weidemier.

_ Northeast: The northeast quadrant's Sequim representative is Richard Petit. Then Councilor Susan Lorenzen chose county resident Craig Stevenson, and Councilor Walt Schubert picked Albert Friess.

_ Southeast: The southeast quadrant's Sequim representative is Lloyd Pedersen.

Then Mayor Laura Dubois selected county resident Sue Erzen and Councilor Ken Hays picked county resident Mike McAleer.

_ Southwest: The southwest quadrant's representatives are Mary Moore and Richard Tarbuck. Then Councilor Bill Huizinga selected county resident Bill Jensen.

Councilor Paul McHugh, who is on vacation, will be allowed to make the final two selections prior to formal approval of the committee membership.

The committee also will have one representative each from the city of Sequim, Clallam County and the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Council.
