Reception Aug. 25 for city manager hopefuls

A one-hour public reception for the four city manager candidates is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
The four candidates are Vernon Stoner, former chief deputy at the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner; Steven Burkett, former Shoreline city manager; Mark Gervasi, Tillamook city manager; and Subir Mukerjee, Olympia's assistant city manager. A fifth candidate withdrew over the weekend.
The four candidates will interview with three panels from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. One panel will be the city council, another will be the city department heads and the third will be community members.
Prior to the public reception, the four will meet individually with Interim City Manager Linda Herzog and take a virtual tour of the city.
