Ji Sanford, owner of Indigo Building, a new multipurpose health and wellness facility, announced plans to open his business on Thanksgiving weekend.

Located two doors from Anytime Fitness at Rock Plaza, adjacent to the roundabout at

Sequim Avenue and Old Olympic Highway, Indigo Building will host several vendors and activities starting daily dependent on construction.

Sanford said there will be a two-story climbing gym; art studio; body works with massage therapy and acupressure; yoga and dance; physical conditioning with body weight exercises; organic grab-and-go foods; juice and smoothie bar; a recording studio and small performing space for musicians.

As a licensed massage therapist and ex-Navy Seal, Sanford said his primary concern is "the conditioning and health and well-being" portion of the facility.

"The climbing gym is the inspiration because it's a jungle gym for kids and adults," he said.

The facility has been in planning for several years, but Sanford felt the time was right now.

In the future, he plans to open a day care and an adventure center for children to explore the area through rock climbing, surfing and other trips.

Sanford will release a time for an open house soon to answer questions on the facility.

A Web site is in development, which eventually can be found at www.

indigobuilding.com or www.indigobldg.com with updates and 3-D pictures of the facility.

Ji Sanford can be reached at creotractus@gmail.com or 460-1783.
