Two people were evaluated at Olympic Medical Center following a three-vehicle wreck that tied up traffic for about an hour Thursday afternoon at U.S. Highway 101 and Louella Road, two miles east of Sequim.

A Subaru Forester driven by David E. Cinti, 63, Sequim, was stopped on westbound Highway 101 waiting to turn left onto Louella Road about 3:30 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

Petra A. Phillips, 68, Port Angeles, was driving a Chrysler van and ran into the back of the Forester, forcing it into the eastbound lane.

John D. Prosser, 58,

Sequim, eastbound in his Ford pickup truck, swerved to avoid the Forester, striking a dirt embankment.

Cinti was not injured. His Forester was totaled and towed from the scene.

Lorraine S. Nakamoto, 57, Sequim, Cinti's passenger, was taken to Olympic Medical Center for evaluation of back and neck pain..

Phillips was taken to OMC with a head laceration. She was cited for driving too fast to avoid a collision. Her van was totaled and towed from the scene.

Prosser was not injured. His pickup truck sustained an estimated $1,000 damage and was towed from the scene.
