Sequim Community Aid has received a check for $2,000 from the Sequim Community Christmas Chorus.
The chorus raised the funds through ticket sales for its 25th anniversary concerts and from contributions from organizations and individuals. Linda Bauer and Nancy Dinan, members of the chorus and its board since 1984, presented the gift Jan. 21 at First Federal on North Sequim Avenue.
Sequim Community Aid president Donna Tidrick, vice president Nancy Powell and treasurer Myrna Ford accepted the check. Coordinator Julie Jackson said First Federal donated $1,000 and the Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus contributed $200 to the Christmas Chorus on behalf of Sequim Community Aid.
“Sequim Community Aid helps people in a crisis survive, and we could not operate without this kind of support,” said Tidrick.
All of the money will provide emergency aid for families and individuals within the Sequim School District. Sequim Community Aid, an all-volunteer organization, was founded in 1947 and provides assistance such as one-time help with utilities or rent.
The chorus, founded in 1984, is open to all singers. For more information, contact Jackson at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 683-1355.
