Clallam PUD linemen are investigating the cause of last night’s power surge in the Sequim area, said Chief Engineer Dave Proebstel.
The breaker controlling power from the Happy Valley substation into Sequim tripped at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday and closed 45 seconds later, he said.
“The circuit breaker detected no problem last night or it would have stayed open. There were no more short circuits.
“We don’t know the cause yet, it could have been a tree falling against the line. We’re sending linemen out to look,” Probestel said.
