Top sellers at Greywolf and Helen Haller elementary schools were given their choice of prizes after selling more than 2,000 Sequim Irrigation Festival buttons. Each year fifth-graders at the schools sell buttons to help pay for production of the festival float and travel expenses for festival royalty.
At Greywolf, top sellers were Shyanne Terry, who sold 243 buttons; Amber Lamb, who sold 180; and Elizabeth Rosales, front left, who sold 80. Terry chose a bicycle; Lamb, a boom box; and Rosales, a CD player. Lamb designed the 2010 festival’s button.
At Helen Haller, Jake Ryan sold 80 buttons while Stephanie Grow sold 68 and Helena Allencastre sold 40. Ryan selected a boom box; Grow, a CD player; and Allencastre, a bicycle.
The top 20 sellers at Helen Haller Elementary and Greywolf Elementary receive a pancake breakfast at the Oak Table Café and those who sold 20 or more buttons receive a pizza lunch. The Sequim Irrigation Festival runs May 1-9.
Festival buttons and pins are for sale at shops and restaurants in and around Sequim.
