On Sunday, April 11, 2010 at approximately 5:54 p.m., Port Angles Police and Fire units were dispatched to a one vehicle collision with reported injuries on the Tumwater Truck Route, south of Marine Drive.   Officers arrived to find a seriously injured male lying in a ditch on the west side of the road with a heavily damaged motorcycle nearby. 
 
Port Angeles Fire Department personnel administered emergency medical care and transported the patient to the Olympic Medical Center.  He was later flown via air ambulance to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.  The victim has been identified as John M. Fullerton, age 59, from Port Angeles. 
 
The overall cause of the accident continues to be under investigation.  Investigators have not yet determined any external factors that might have caused the accident.
