A Salish wolf is featured in this year’s Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club quilt, which depicts the history and beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
The quilt was a shared project by members of the club. Irene Snodgrass managed concept and assembly, while the tree blocks were made by various quilters. Kitty Niles appliqued the wolf center, and Sharon Witt quilted wolves into the border.
Five thousand raffle tickets will be sold for $1 apiece at the club’s booth at the Irrigation Festival on May 1-2 and at stores throughout the area on weekends up to the dates of the annual quilt show in July.
Proceeds enable the club to continue making quilts that meet the needs of recipients in Clallam County.
“Call of the Wild” is the theme of this year’s quilt show, which will be July 16-18 in the Sequim Middle School gyms, where more than 200 quilts will be on display.
The winning ticket for the raffle quilt will be drawn at the close of the show. The winner need not be present.
