Rand Thomas, owner of Thomas Building Center and the fourth generation in his family to operate a lumber yard/building center, and Tony Steinman, contractor sales manager, took a moment with Sequim Kiwanis Club arrangements chairman Shell McGuire after the Kiwanis Business of the Month Award was presented to the center.

Founded in 1972, the center serves contractors and homeowners at 301 W. Washington St., Sequim.

At a design center opened in 2009, customers are assisted with installation of cabinets, doors, and windows and locating contractors for kitchen and bath remodeling.

Thomas family community activities have included the co-chair of the 1995 100th Irrigation Festival, the remodel of the Sequim Library, Boys & Girls Club assistance, youth sports, Olympic Theatre Arts, and the key contribution of the Thomas Family Cancer Center in conjunction with Olympic Medical Center.
