Benefit garage sale planned

The men of Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church hold a garage sale on July 24 to benefit local charities.
All proceeds from the sale will be divided among Sequim Food Bank, Sequim Community Aid and Serenity House.
These (usually) annual sales have raised sizable sums for charity and have been well supported by the community.
Two years ago nearly 200 people were on hand for the 8 a.m. opening of the sale.
Instead of holding a garage sale last year, the group hand-built and raffled a cedar strip kayak that raised $8,000 for charity.
People wishing to donate items for the sale can call the church office at 681-0946 to arrange a pick-up.
Items donated for sale also can be dropped off at the church at 925 N. Sequim Ave. between 10 a.m.-noon Mondays or brought to the church between 9 a.m.4 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, or Thursday, July 22.
This year, the following items will not be accepted: electronics (TVs, stereos, computers, printers, tape or CD recorder/players, etc.), exercise equipment (Nordic tracks, weight machines, treadmills, exercise bikes, etc.) or encyclopedia sets.
They also will not accept last-minute leftovers from other garage sales.
They will accept clothing that is clean and in good condition.
