A special Music in the Park event to kick off the July 4 weekend takes place at 6 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 2, at the James Center for the Performing Arts, 563 N. Rhodefer Road, north of Carrie Blake Park.
The event features the 133rd Army Band. Their group, called the “Music 2 Boot,” entertains citizens with popular music.
The 133rd Army Band is a diverse group of musicians and ensembles that represents the Washington National Guard to audiences across the state. Band members range in age from their late teens to mid 50s.
The 133rd Army Band is located at Camp Murray. Typically the band meets one weekend a month and performs a two-week concert tour around Washington in the summer.
