Four Sequim residents were arrested this month on related drug charges.
According to court documents, Jessica Lopez, 22, and Trever Gallauher, 31, both of Sequim, were arrested July 16 following a traffic stop in Sequim.
During the stop, police searched the car and found a smoking device containing a white powder residue and what they suspected to be methamphetamine in the center console, police said.
Lopez, who was the passenger, was detained for having an open alcoholic container and while she was being advised of her rights, handed over two clear plastic bags, Officer Paul Dailidenas said in a report.
The bags contained methamphetamine and marijuana, he said.
Gallauher, who was driving with a suspended Washington state identification card, told police he had purchased the methamphetamine with Lopez and told her to put it in her pocket during the traffic stop, police said.
Gallauher was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and of driving while license suspended. Lopez was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and marijuana. Both were booked into the Clallam County Jail.
As a result of the incident, police obtained a search warrant for the Washington Street home of Katherine Melcer, 30, and Travis McDaniel, 31, on July 18. Lopez and Gallauher had identified the house as where they purchased drugs, police said.
During the search, police found methamphetamine, heroin, miscellaneous prescription pills, a stolen handgun, police scanners and video surveillance cameras, police said.
Melcer was arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of a synthetic narcotic and unlawful fortification of a building for drug purposes. McDaniel was arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of a synthetic narcotic, possession of stolen property and unlawful fortification of a building for drug purposes. Both were booked into the Clallam County Jail.
Melcer, McDaniel and Lopez pleaded not guilty at their
July 21 arraignments. Gallauher did not enter a plea.
