Newly registered technologist

Olympic Medical Center employee Mary Vest has passed her computerized tomography certification examination through the American Registry of Registered Technologists.

Computerized tomography technologists are radiologic technologists who specialize in taking cross-sectional X-ray images of the bones and soft tissues of the body.

Thrift shop open Saturday

The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild's thrift shop, 204 W. Bell St., Sequim, will be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20.

Holiday items will be featured and all white tag items will be marked half price.

The shop is accepting donations of gently used items.

Green gardening

Neil Burkhardt of McComb Gardens attended a Green Gardening program sponsored by Seattle Public Utilities and funded by the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County on Nov. 3. The workshop for landscape professionals was titled "From Restoration Horticulture to Natural Tree Care: IPM and Plant Health Care Strategies."

Food drive at Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain Animal Clinic is accepting donations for the Sequim and Port Angeles food banks during November and December. Nonperishable canned goods, pet foods and toiletries are suggested. The clinic is at 2972 Old Olympic Highway. Call 457-3842.

Rent-a-Santa

Santa is available to come to parties, homes, businesses, child care centers, churches, nursing homes or homeless shelters in the Port Angeles, Sequim, Joyce and Carlsborg areas.
