Seminar on family history research
The Clallam County Genealogical Society hosts a seminar, “Family History Research in the Atlantic South: Virginia, Georgia and the Carolinas,” from 8:30 a.m.-

Symphony rehearsal free to families

Breakfast helps pay medical bills
The Sequim Guild for Seattle Children’s Hospital invites the public to its third annual Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Sequim Elks Club, 143 Port Williams Road.
A donation of $7 for adults and $4 for children is requested.
Proceeds will help provide medical services to families who cannot afford the cost of care provided to their children at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Friends of Fields hosts farmers’ breakfast
Friends of the Fields sponsors a Farmers’ Breakfast from 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, March 13, at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim.
Cost is $12 for adults or $5 for children under 10. Proceeds benefit farmland preservation in Clallam County.

Nutritious meals focus of free program

‘Dine to Donate’ for missing persons
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar invites the public to a “Dine to Donate” event to raise funds for the Susan Cox Powell Foundation from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at 130 River Road, Sequim. Diners who produce a “Dine to Donate” flier will have 15 percent of their bill — except for alcoholic beverages and gift cards — donated to the fund to assist families of missing persons. ‘Seabirds of Midway Atoll’ presentation
The Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society invites the public to its meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road in Sequim.
Elston and Jackie Hill will present “Seabirds of Midway Atoll.” Best known as the location of the 1942 Battle of Midway, the atoll supports 17 different species of seabirds, some rare. The presentation is free.
Boating safety class
The Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a two-day American Boating Safety Class from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 18, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Prairie Springs Assisted Living, 660 W. Prairie St., Sequim.
Cost is $25 for nonmem-bers of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and $12 for members.
Anyone age 35 or younger operating a powerboat with horsepower of 15 or more is required to have a Washington State Boater Education card.
