For the past two weeks, Shelli Robb-Kahler, new Sequim Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce executive director, has shadowed outgoing director Vicki Maples.
The two spent Maples’ next-to-last day with 15 hours straight of Chamber of Commerce activities.
Maples said she there’s more she’d have liked to do and implement but she’s proud of what she’s accomplished, especially in the past two weeks.
“We’re not quite at dawn, but definitely past dusk,” Maples said.
Robb-Kahler started April 4 after Maples announced her resignation on Feb. 10 to deal with family issues.
Maples’ last day was April 15. She worked for the chamber for the past 2 1/2 years,
Robb-Kahler said she’s done a little bit of everything the past few weeks, including meeting with chamber board members, committees, city council and employees, lavender groups and Irrigation Festival coordinators.
She said her top priorities are to understand the day-to-day process of her job better while beginning implementation of an action plan that includes enhancing chamber membership benefits.
Robb-Kahler also oversees the Sequim Visitor Center. Maples last duty was attending the Sequim Irrigation Festival's Headgate ceremony.
