Child rape charge dropped

A 21-year-old Sequim man accused of child rape had the charge dismissed May 16 in Clallam County Superior Court.
Kevin Henrichsen, who also goes by the last name Hammond, was charged March 8 with third-degree child rape involving a 15-year-old girl.
The alleged victim underwent a medical examination Nov. 14, 2010, after reporting she was raped just hours before, according to a police report. DNA evidence was located and sent to the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory in Marysville for analysis, police said.
“We received the DNA results back from the crime lab and they came back negative,” said Clallam County Deputy Prosecutor Ann Lundwall.
Henrichsen spent 13 days in the Clallam County jail before posting $25,000 bond.
The charge was dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled.
