Sequim Middle School’s finalists put on their brave faces for the ASB Talent Show on June 3. Vying for the top spots were a similarly talented group of performers playing piano or guitar, singing original and popular songs, and dancing and jumping on the gym floor for a supportive, vocal crowd. The top two spots went to original songwriters.

Eighth-grader Elise Beuke won first place for her piano and vocal performance of her original song, “Fire & Gasoline.” Maeve Harris, also in eighth grade, received second place for her song and piano number, “So Right.” Sixth-grader Danica Miller won third place for her high-flying gymnastics routine. Lauren Traczyk, in eighth grade, won fourth for singing and playing “The Lonely” on the piano.

Other participants were Victoria Hall, sixth grade, singing “Sequim Song;” Elizabeth Rosales, sixth grade, playing “Regal March” on clarinet; Emily Funston, sixth grade, singing “The King of Everything;” Sarah Henry, eighth grade, singing and playing guitar for “Let It Be;” Jovelle Dewey, sixth grade, on piano; Ali Cobb and Kristina and Hilary Holtrop with the dance routine “Sweet Dreams;” and Ricky Gross, eighth grade, singing and playing on guitar “Dare You To Move.” A surprise performance by Olivia Ready, Taylor Seay, Mia Vong and Joanna Lamphear was an eighth-grade vocal tribute. Sequim Middle School, 301 W. Hendrickson Road, can be reached at 582-3500.
