Stephanie Clark, choir director at Sequim High School, has been recognized as an outstanding music educator by Heritage Festivals.

 

Under Clark’s direction, Sequim High School music students participated in the 2011 Festival at Carnegie Hall with the National Youth Chorus, where they performed on the Carnegie Hall stage in New York City on April 3 alongside the nation’s best performing groups.

 

Music students of Sequim High School studied under the master adjudicator, Dr. Eph Ehly, during the event and received high marks, the pinnacle of their musical achievements. Since 2006, Clark and her music students have participated in five different heritage festivals held in Anaheim, Calif., and Seattle. Her performing choir groups have won outstanding awards at these festivals year after year, including gold, silver and adjudicators awards for outstanding performing group as recognized by the festival’s adjudicators.  

 

Clark has been a music educator for more than 12 years and has been teaching at Sequim High School for the past seven years. She directs more than 230 students in the music program, including concert choir, select choir, and sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade choirs in middle school and high school.
