Police still are following leads in last week’s KeyBank robbery on North Dunlap Avenue.

A sketch of the suspect was released Sept. 29 along with a more detailed narrative of the incident.

Sequim Police Sgt. Sean Madison said a lone man entered the bank Sept. 26 wearing a latex-type mask of either a dragon or a demon, latex gloves that appeared oversized and in poor condition, a navy blue hooded jacket, denim jeans and white athletic shoes.

The man approached a teller and announced the robbery, presenting a canvas-type shopping bag to hold the stolen money. No weapon was seen or implied, Madison said.

The suspect was given the teller’s tray money and then he moved to another teller, who gave him a stack one one-dollar bills and a few rolls of coins, which he dropped at the teller window before fleeing, Madison said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s to mid-40s, more than 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds with an athletic build. He shouted his instructions, seemed to move “briskly” and “hurried” and appeared organized in his actions, Madison said in a news bulletin.

The man left the bank on foot and was seen by other witnesses getting on a mountain bike to make his escape. Witnesses report the bike to be white, blue or even red, but it is believed the bike was blue with white lettering, Madison said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Madison or Detective Darrell Nelson at 683-7227.
