Marsha Hendrickson of Sequim won the local mother lode of prizes from the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Now in its fourth year, the raffle increased the value of the merchandise donated by $500 over 2010. This year 38 businesses donated nearly $1,800 of goods and gift certificates, with this year’s event coinciding with the chamber’s Pay it Forward campaign.
Hendrickson’s husband, Don, entered the contest for her at The Red Rooster Grocery, where she received the prizes on Dec. 8.
The Pay it Forward campaign allows customers in participating Sequim Downtown Merchants’ businesses to show their receipt from other participating businesses for 10 percent off a purchase. Each receipt is good only once. The promotion runs Nov. 25-Dec. 24.
Shelli Robb-Kahler, chamber executive director, said there was a large turnout citywide for participants and they plan to grow the basket contest even more.
