Tai Chi classes offered in Sequim and P.A.
Ongoing Tai Chi classes led by Vincent Chu and sponsored by the Washington Institute of Natural Science are offered in Sequim and Port Angeles. Classes are from 12:30-1:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday at John Wayne Marina’s south parking lot and at 7:15-8 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, at INSPIRE Medical Clinic/CliniCare, 621 E. Grange social features Relay for Life
Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, hosts its monthly social tonight, Feb. 22, starting at 6:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner followed by a presentation on the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

SHS band holds rummage sale
The Sequim High School All Band Rummage Sale is slated for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the high school cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Rummage sale items include fishing equipment, vintage kitchen/bake ware, appliances, toys, games, sporting goods, clothing, decorative items, furniture, antiques and more.
This event raises funds that support participation and travel fees for Sequim High School Band events throughout the year. These fees and costs are not covered by the Sequim School District. Band events include Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in Seattle; Husky Band Day at the Husky Stadium; Victoria, British Columbia, and every other year at the Heritage Festival in Anaheim, Calif.
Explorers taking a walk
The Olympic Peninsula Explorers invite the public to join them for a club walk on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The Port Angeles Historical Walk has
six- and 10-kilometer options. Highlights include the Museum at the Carnegie, Liberty Bell, bakeries and more. The 10K route goes up to Peninsula College and the outdoor art display.
Start time is 9 a.m. The group meets at the lobby of the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St.
A carpool for Sequim-area participants meets at the QFC parking area (990 E. Washington St.) at 8:30 a.m.

Communication workshop planned
In recognition of the season for nonviolence, the Sequim Center for Spiritual Living will sponsor a Nonviolent Communication Workshop from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.
The Rev. Michael Laakso will facilitate this workshop, presenting insight into the “jackal” and “giraffe” ways we communicate in our relationships.
Focus is on honoring feelings and needs, practicing empathy and compassion.

Driving safety classes offered
Two AARP driving safety classes are
scheduled in Sequim.
A class will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, Feb. 29-March 1, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave.
Another class is from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, March 6-7, at the Sequim fire station, 325 N. Fifth Ave.
The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Call 683-6806.
Series introduces Volunteer Hospice
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County offers an eight-week spring community education series on Fridays from 1-3 p.m. beginning March 2 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim. The March 2 program includes an introduction to hospice.

Stop the Checkpoints meets
Stop The Checkpoints meets from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Museum at the Carnegie, 207 S. Lincoln St. in Port Angeles. A locally produced video, “With Dignity,” will be shown at the meeting honoring International Women’s Day.
