Celebrating the accomplishment of the students, Olympic Peninsula Academy’s annual Night of Excellence provides a free evening of performances and fun.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave., students in kindergarten through 12th grade lead a number of routines, including dance, guitar, Spanish conversations, a recital and the Future City students’ presentation.

Tim Wilkinson, a teacher for OPA, said attendance is mostly parents, but community support is growing.

“This is something anyone can enjoy,” he said.

Wilkinson said the evening provides an opportunity to show the community what the students have learned so far in the school year.

“This is a very close-knit group, and (kindergarten) through 12th grade they know each other,” he said. “This is a chance to come together and celebrate.”

Following the performances, attendees can move on to a free dessert event at the Sequim High School, featuring a silent auction with 100-plus items. Donations from the event and auction items helps cover extra expenses for school materials, field trips and the Future City and drama programs.

Wilkinson said they welcome community donations of new and handcrafted items for the auction.
