Officers from all agencies on the Olympic Peninsula, including the National Park Service, Clallam Bay Corrections Center, Washington State Patrol, the Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend police departments and the U.S. Border Patrol, participate on May 30 in running the torch from the Elwha area to Hood Canal in support of the Special Olympics of Washington games.

Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict leads a group of walkers with the torch from the Port Angeles City Pier to the old Rayonier site. Jefferson County Sheriff Tony Hernandez runs the final stretch across the Hood Canal bridge and passes the torch to Kitsap County officers, who dedicate their run on May 31 to Trooper Tony Radulescu, killed in February in the line of duty. The final leg is to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where the games begin June 2.
