Last year, more than 30,000 seedlings were planted in the newly uncovered sediments of the old reservoirs. More than 400,000 additional seedlings are to be planted over the next six years, helping along the process of natural re-vegetation and bringing the promise of new life to a barren landscape.

In the final presentation in the River Story restoration series on Aug. 22, Olympic National Park scientific research coordinator Jerry Freilich will focus on scientific research being conducted as part of the Elwha Restoration project.
