The Clallam County Sheriff's Office has sent out a hot weather warning for the Olympic Peninsula region for Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 15-17.
The weather warning also affects western Skagit and Whatcom counties, east Puget Sound lowlands, Seattle, Bremerton, Tacoma, the Hood Canal area and several areas in the Cascades regions.
Offshore flow is the impetus for the warm weather, expected to develop first along the Pacific coast. Areas west and south of the Olympic Mountains are expected to see temperatures in the 90s by late Wednesday afternoon.
While the coast will see temperatures cool into the 70s on Friday, the interior will remain hot.
Officials urge safety: limit time spent in the sun and drink plenty of water.
