A 39-year-old Sequim man is charged with distribution of heroin to a minor after allegedly injecting a 17-year-old with the drug, which resulted in an overdose.

Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies said medics responded to the 100 block of West Silberhorn Road on June 18 after receiving a report of a 17-year-old girl overdosing on heroin.

When medics arrived, a car containing the girl was leaving the scene, driven by a woman later identified as 30-year-old Holly Susan Jay, of Sequim, deputies said.

Medics followed the car for about three miles before it stopped at a dead end, at which point Bruce Wayne Homan jumped out and ran into the woods, according to court documents.

The girl, unresponsive and not breathing, was found in the back seat where Homan was sitting. Deputies said medics proceeded with CPR and revived the girl, who later reported Homan had injected her with heroin in the arm.

Homan, whose criminal record includes one felony assault and three possession of a controlled substance convictions, was arrested Aug. 24 and later charged with distribution of heroin to a person under 18, a Class B felony. He pleaded not guilty and trial is set for Oct. 24. He remains in custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Jay was charged with reckless endangerment in Clallam County District Court in July. The teen recovered from the overdose and was sent to a residential drug treatment facility, according to court documents.
