Monday, Sept. 17, marks 225 years since the day in 1787 the Constitution of the United States was signed.
The Michael Trebert Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution joins with other chapters nationwide to sponsor "Bells Across America," at 1 p.m. (PST) on Sept. 17.
Individuals, churches and government groups are encouraged to participate by ringing bells at that time.
Among those planning to take part are St. Luke's Episcopal Church and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sequim; St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Gateway Transportation Center and Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles.
Free pocket-sized copies of the U.S. Constitution are at DAR displays at the Sequim and Port Angeles libraries, Pacific Mist Books in Sequim and Sound Community Bank in Sequim and Port Angeles.
