Burglary sentence

Clifford Earl Hanning, 26, of Sequim, pleaded guilty to residential burglary with aggravated circumstances Sept. 26. Hanning, armed with a crowbar and screwdriver, broke into a house in the 600 block of West Eighth Street in Port Angeles on June 24 and fled when the resident confronted him with a handgun.
On July 2, Port Angeles police officers arrested Hanning at a residence in the 800 block of East Fifth Street in Port Angeles. Officers found him hiding in the storage compartment of a couch. Clallam County Superior Court Judge S. Brooke Taylor sentenced Hanning to one year plus one day confinement.
At the sentencing hearing, the victim said the incident left her fearful and suspicious.

 

 

Methamphetamine sentence
Thomas Leslie Whitty, 46, of Sequim, was sentenced to six months plus one day in jail and one year community custody for possessing methamphetamine.
Sequim police arrested Whitty on Sept. 9, 2010, on a warrant and found him to be in possession of methamphetamine. In December 2010, he waived his right to a jury trial and was granted diversion, which was revoked a year later.
Judge Ken Williams sentenced Whitty at a Sept. 26 hearing in Clallam County Superior Court.

 

 

Drug, theft charges
Frank Jay Fruichantie, 37, of Sequim, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, oxycodone, possession of marijuana and theft in the third degree. Fruichantie is accused of stealing 48 pills of his girlfriend’s prescription pain medication Aug. 5. Officers said when they arrested him on suspicion of theft, and on a warrant, they found a container in his pocket with marijuana inside.
Prosecutors filed charges in Clallam County Superior Court Sept. 26 and issued a summons for Fruichantie to appear in court Oct. 19.
