Just two years removed from his high school graduation and one from his wedding, Sequim's Bo Pinnell is part of the 68,000-person U.S. military force serving in Afghanistan for the holidays.
And they could use some support, says Pinnell's mother, Angie Dickson. Even if it's a bit of candy.
She and her employer, Chris Frankfurth of Agnew Grocery, are collecting items for Pinnell and his U.S. Army platoon and company as they prepare for some of the coldest weather Afghanistan has to offer.
Even little hand-warmers will help, Dickson says. She says her son and other infantry could use small items that they can take when they are out in the field, commonly for three days at a time.
Pinnell graduated from Sequim High School in 2010 and a year later married fellow SHS grad Johanna Ewing.
Pinnell is stationed in Vicenza, Italy, with the 2-503rd Skysoldiers 173rd airborne division.
Drop off items at Agnew Grocery, 2863 Old Olympic Highway, or at the Sequim VFW building between 1-10 p.m.
