The Sequim Centennial Committee invites everyone to gear up now for the events of the Centennial year’s gala 4th of July Weekend.
• The Old-Fashioned Town Picnic is from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at the Water Reuse Demonstration Park and the James Center for the Performing Arts north of Carrie Blake Park. Relay races, a bean-bag toss, pick-up sports games, checkers, horseshoes, croquet, a community photo and great music highlight the day. Picnic food will be available for purchase.
The Sequim City Band performs its free 4th of July concert at 3 p.m.
• Washington Street closes for “The Street Dance of the Century” from 6-10 p.m. Friday, July 5, in downtown
Sequim, in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk (5-8 p.m.) Retro rock-and-roll band Magic Bus performs with special guest the Guy Johnson Band. A beer and wine garden will be open with food available for purchase. • Golfers will want to plan on The Cedars at Dungeness Sequim Centennial Scramble at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6. Two-man teams will get a shotgun start.
