Candidate forum video recordings now available

Video recordings of two recent candidate forums hosted by the League of Women Voters of Clallam County are now available at www.lwvcla.org.

The first, held on June 25 in Forks, featured candidates for Charter Review Commission (District 3) and a candidate for Forks City Council Position 5. The second, held on June 27 in Sequim, presented candidates for Olympic Medical Center Commissioner (District 1, Position 1) and Charter Review Commission (District 1).

The Clallam County League will present two more candidate forums leading up to the primary election on Aug. 6:

• 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 — Candidates for Charter Review Commission (District 2) at the Vern Burton Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles

• 6 p.m. Monday, July 15 — Candidates for Port Angeles City Council (Positions 5 and 7), at Port Angeles City Council Chambers, 321 E. Fifth St.

All events are free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring questions for the candidates.

Candidates for other offices who are in attendance will be invited to introduce themselves at the conclusion of each forum, after which there will be time for one-on-one, question-and-answer session with all candidates.

The League of Women Voters is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose purpose is to promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government.

The local Clallam County League, with a membership of more than 125 people, regularly presents forums and debates to help voters become better informed about local and statewide races.
