Family, friends and community members gathered at the Shipley Center on Wednesday, March 15, to remember the life and legacy of R. Leo Shipley.

A Celebration of Life and Legacy service was held in honor of Shipley, the philanthropist for whom the center is named. He died in January at the age of 90 after battling a long illness.

The service consisted of a presentation of Shipley’s life and achievements, guests sharing their memories of him, a table of memorabilia and a reception following the service.
