Deputies make arrest in burglary investigation

Deputies of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office last week arrested Angela M. Goodell, a 36-year-old Sequim resident, for Residential Burglary, Malicious Mischief Third Degree and Criminal Trespass First Degree.

At about 11:50 a.m. on May 29, deputies responded to a report of a female in the Priest Lane area who had unlawfully entered an unoccupied residence by breaking a sliding glass door, according to a sheriff’s office report.

Using the physical description of the suspect provided by the reporting party, deputies located Goodell on Priest Lane, the report stated.

According to deputies, Goodell was interviewed and said she “had to break the glass because God told her that there was someone hurt inside.”

Goodell used a small outdoor table to break the glass door, according to the report, and that further investigation revealed she had unlawfully entered another residence — this one occupied — through an unlocked door.

Goodell was booked in to the Clallam County Jail.

Deputies learned Goodell has a history of illicit drug use and mental health problems, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

“Although these crimes are extremely unsettling and serious, Goodell was not confrontational and did not physically harm any of the victims,” the sheriff’s office noted in a press release.
