Fire destroys motor home

A motor home burned at the Olympic Paradise RV Park near Sequim on Saturday, May 5, Clallam County Fire District No. 3 officials said.

No one was injured in the blaze at 137 Pierson Road.

The owner and his dog were visiting friends at the time of the fire, District 3 Assistant Chief Dan Orr said.

“The first arriving crew stated the motor home was fully involved,” Orr said in a news release.

“Crews did a defensive attack and controlled the fire to the original motor home coach.”

The fire started behind the driver’s seat at the front of the coach.

Orr said the cause appeared to be accidental. He did not provide more details.

The owner lost most of his belongings in the fire. The estimated loss of the coach and its contests was $50,000, Orr said.

The Clallam County Public Utility District and the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
