Flock and awe: Sequim Graduation Party flamingo fundraiser is back

Fowl play? Not exactly. High school seniors and parents organizing the Class of 2017’s graduation party have revived the flamingo fundraiser.

Parents of graduating high school seniors will be “flocking” lawns in the Sequim area. The group asks a $25 “fee” to remove flocks and a $10 charge to send the flock along.

All money raised goes to fund a post-graduation, drug- and alcohol-free party in June. The party is open to any graduating high school seniors in the Sequim area, and includes music, contests, food, raffles, give-aways, games and more, and was designed to keep graduating seniors safe and alcohol- and substance-free on their graduation day.

For more information about the program or to help with party planning and fundraising, contact graduation party president Jamie D’Amico (jamie@ssnwhq.com) or vice president Danielle Patterson (danielle@allplaysystems.com).

Party planning meetings are 9-11 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month in the Sequim High School library, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Sequim Gazette photo by Michael Dashiell
