Free TAX-AIDE services in Sequim continues through mid-April

IRS-certified AARP TAX-AIDE volunteers will be available again this year to prepare and electronically file tax returns at several sites in the Sequim area. The service is free of charge.

Sponsored by the IRS and the AARP Foundation, the TAX-AIDE program is available for low- and middle-income taxpayers of all ages.

TAX-AIDE volunteers will be available through this year’s tax season, which extends to April 13.

The TAX-AIDE volunteers are IRS-certified to prepare most basic tax returns, making sure that the taxpayer receives all eligible deductions and credits. They help everyone from first-time taxpayers and working families to retirees and those who just needs some help to get through their tax return.

Volunteers do not prepare returns for taxpayers, however, who have income from rental properties or taxpayers with complicated business returns.
