The Genealogical Society of Clallam County hosts an open house from noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at its facility at 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

The community is invited to view the facility, do some research and enjoy refreshments.

The first of three beginners classes starts at 12:30 p.m., with classes scheduled for Oct. 26,and Nov. 23. This series — $10 per session or $27 for the series for non-members, $9 and $25 for members — is for those who are beginning an ancestral search.

Each class includes a lecture followed by a workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer if they have one; there will be “homework” assignments to advance one’s research. Sign up by Friday, Sept. 28, to reserve a space.
