Help Clallam County assess damage from Dec. 14 storm

Clallam County Emergency Management is compiling a list of property damage from the windstorm that damaged a number of private and commercial properties on Dec. 14.

“We are requesting the public’s help in collecting that information,” Jamye Wisecup, program coordinator for Clallam County’s Emergency Management Department, said.

“If you or someone you know had damage created by the storm, please contact the county to report it,” she said. “We are collecting information from private property owners, schools, businesses and governmental agencies.”

Providing the county with an estimated amount of personal property lost does not obligate the responder to file for recovery assistance, Wisecup said.

“At this time we are just trying to determine the monetary value of the storm damage,” she said. “These figures will be used by the state to determine if federal funds are needed to aid in recovery.”
