Learn how to sleep better, reduce pain at WOW! workshop

Dr. Loraine Lovejoy-Evans presents “Improving Incontinence,” a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum, starting at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Seating is limited, so attendees are asked to arrive early.

Lovejoy-Evans presents a nursing home prevention strategy by teaching how to contract the pelvic floor to help reduce incontinence (difficulty holding back urine). This practice can provide longer periods of sleep, reduce the use of incontinence pads and help maintain improved skeletal alignment in order to reduce pain.

Lovejoy-Evans earned her doctorate at the University of Puget Sound in 2007 and is now a physical therapist who works for Olympic Medical Home Health in Port Angeles. She works with patients who are housebound and specializes in managing their pain, swelling, and incontinence.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic — which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m.

Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 360-582-0218.
