Members of the Sequim Prairie Garden Club have made some significant renovations to the historic Pioneer Memorial Park sign, originally created in 1966. Barbara Fitzgerald restored the face of the large cedar slab, Roy Haralson poured the cement foundation housing and Christina Jensen Lacie designed the plantings surrounding the sign. In addition, Haralson added some fresh paint to the parks’s original flagpole; a new eagle ornament sits at the top with the new flag which is illuminated at night for the “full patriotic effect,” club members say.
