Diners got a taste of Hollywood on Dec. 5 at Sequim’s Blondie’s Plate, 134 South Second Ave.

Staff and customers spotted Jeff Goldblum (“Jurassic Park,” “Thor: Ragnarok”) and cast and crew with the upcoming movie “The Mountain” dining out while shooting in the area.

Darren Stephens, bartender at Blondie’s, snapped a picture of Goldblum with staff inside the eatery and said for the most part they wanted to leave them alone to eat in peace. He said he commended Goldblum for his films “The Fly” and “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension,” though.

“He loved that someone still talks about his old sci-fi movies,” Stephens said.

Staff said cast and crew, including director Rick Alverson (Entertainment) and actor Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One), stayed for about two hours and told them they loved the restaurant.

Prior to filming in Washington, extras casting director Denise Gibbs reached out to locals online for extras as lodge patrons at Lake Crescent and gas station employees in Forks.

Gibbs posted online that “The Mountain” is set in the 1960s and follows a famous neurologist late in his career touring rural mental hospitals with a shy young man to try and reclaim his glory.

“The young man becomes infatuated with a patient and her father, immersed in the surreal, burgeoning New Age movement of the west.,” she wrote.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Nov. 8, Goldblum said “The Mountain” is a type of critique of “the American psyche, like There Will Be Blood and The Master — you know, P.T. Anderson.”

Producers could not be reached for more details on the upcoming film.
