Wendy Clark-Getzin plans to resign as Clallam Transit’s general manager.

Clark-Getzin, who was hired as the agency’s top executive in April 2013, said she submitted a letter of resignation Friday, April 7, with an effective date of June 1.

She declined to reveal why she was leaving, saying only that it was her decision and that she had not discussed it with the full board.

The Clallam Transit board will consider the letter of resignation at its April 17 meeting, vice chairman Mark Ozias said.

“We’ll make a decision as to whether to accept it or not in open session,” said Ozias, who also is a Clallam County commissioner.

The April 17 meeting will be at 1 p.m. at Clallam Transit headquarters, 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

No comment on status

Clallam Transit officials would not comment on the status of the general manager’s position.

“Everything is confidential at this point,” said board chairman Genaveve Starr, also a Sequim city councilor.

The Clallam Transit board held an executive session to discuss personnel matters in a special meeting March 30. The board took no action when it reconvened in open session, Clallam Transit attorney Craig Miller said.

Under Clark-Getzin’s tenure, the agency’s financial performance improved and she championed a daily direct bus service from downtown Port Angeles to the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal, which the board approved for a June 18 launch.

Clark-Getzin was capital and facilities director at Kitsap Transit prior to taking the helm at Clallam Transit.
