Off to the races: 2018 Tour De Dungeness gears up for second weekend

Sequim’s annual bicycle racing event continues this weekend, bringing cyclists from across the region to the Olympic Peninsula.

The 21st-annual Tour De Dungeness hosted races on March 10 and caps the 2018 with more races on Saturday, March 17.

With an expected field of 400-500 riders from across Washington state and Canada, the tour sees riders in multiple categories compete on a 12-mile course that includes Lotzgesell, Cays, East Anderson, Sequim-Dungeness Way, Woodcock and Kitchen-Dick roads.

Races start at 9:45 a.m. each day and last until late afternoon — rain or shine. Minor traffic delays are expected in the area through the afternoon. The race’s start/finish line is at Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, just off Sequim-Dungeness Way.
