Olympic Peninsula YMCA launches ‘For a better us’ annual campaign

To celebrate the “Us” in communities across the Olympic Peninsula, the Olympic Peninsula YMCA on March 12 launched “For a better us,” its 2018 annual campaign.

The campaign is designed to help the community understand programs and resources the Y provides around the Olympic Peninsula — including access to wellness programs, community outreach initiatives, safe places for youths, mentorship and volunteer opportunities and more.

On the Olympic Peninsula, the YMCA of Port Angeles, YMCA of Sequim and YMCA of Jefferson County host programs such as Exercise & Thrive for cancer survivors, Special Needs Wellness Class to teach healthy habits, After the Bell for a safe place after school, Swim Lessons to teach water safety for all ages, Summer Day Camps to make new friends and Member Support for those that may need financial assistance to participate in YMCA programs.

“We are thrilled with the way all of our branches have helped so many members in each community,” said Len Borchers, CEO, Olympic Peninsula YMCA.

“This is a true representation of how the Olympic Peninsula YMCA is working to solidify the ‘Us’ that holds us together across the Olympic Peninsula,” he said.

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities (Federal Tax ID: 91-0652924).
