OTA, Sequim Food Bank team up for cause: Theater-goers encouraged to bring donations to ‘Something’s Afoot’ performances

Combining great local acting with a good cause, Olympic Theatre Arts is hosting a special production to raise funds and food for the Sequim Food Bank.

During the upcoming production of “Something’s Afoot,” OTA patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to the theater lobby before each performance.

Donation envelopes also will be available for those patrons wishing to sponsor a holiday meal.

In reciprocation, the Sequim Food Bank will be distributing to its patrons OTA advertising fliers highlighting its “Pay-What-You-Will” night on Nov. 3.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone not familiar with OTA or the live theater experience to try it out for ‘what you will,’” OTA marketing manager Marie Jamieson said.

“Something’s Afoot” is a zany, entertaining musical that takes a satirical poke at both Agatha Christie mysteries and styles from English music halls of the 1930s. There are 10 characters stranded in an isolated English country manor and skulduggery is about.

The show will run for three weekends, closing on Nov. 13.

Advanced, reserved-seat tickets for “Something’s Afoot” are available online at www.olympictheatrearts.org or at the theater box office, which is open from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
