Sequim man arrested for drug sales

Sequim resident John L. Eddy was arrested on March 13 for delivery of a controlled substance.

Members of the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) developed probable cause to believe Eddy, 56, was selling controlled substances after OPNET purchased heroin from him using a third party.

Eddy was taken into custody without incident during the service of a search warrant. During the search of his belongings, investigators discovered a backpack that contained two small baggies containing a substance that field tested positive for heroin, OPNET team members said.

The baggies and their contents weighed 3.1 grams and 0.8 grams, investigators said.

Also found in the backpack were several unused plastic baggies and two sets of working digital scales — items commonly used to weigh out and package controlled substances into smaller amounts for resale, law enforcement officials said.

Eddy was booked into the Clallam County Corrections Facility for Delivery of Controlled Substance (heroin), Delivery of Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of Designated School Bus Stop, Possession of Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver within 1,000 feet of Designated School Bus Stop and 5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Eddy’s criminal history includes seven convictions for various controlled substance violations, according to OPNET officials.

Eddy was also arrested by OPNET on Feb 13, 2017, for delivery of heroin; that case is still pending trial.
