Sequim schools, advocates look to the future

As the work of the Sequim School District’s Strategic Planning Committee continues, 47 participants collaborated in small groups during an April 13 session at the Sequim Transit Center. A group made up of district staff, community members and local organization and business leaders, are being asked to define a vision, a mission and a belief statement that will “provide a road map for accomplishing measurable goals” for the district. Dr. Dave Engle, retired superintendent from the Port Townsend School District, serves as facilitator. Remaining sessions are May 25, June 8 and June 22; each meeting is 8:15-11:45 a.m. at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St. For more information about the sessions or to take part in the planning, contact administrative assistant Marilyn Walsh at 582-3262 or mwalsh@sequim.k12.wa.us.
