Teen arrested for allegedly burglarizing Sprint store

The Sequim Police Department arrested a 16-year-old Sequim boy early in the morning on Tuesday, Feb. 7, for an alleged break-in at the Sequim Sprint store, 1400 W. Washington St., Suite 106.

Sgt. Mike Hill said they received an alarm call at 1:02 a.m. from the store and found the front window and display case broken and one cell phone stolen.

The stolen phone was activated and the store manager was able to track it to a specific area in Sequim, Hill said.

Sequim Police officers began canvasing the neighborhood and found the juvenile in the first home, he said.

The youth was booked into the Clallam County Youth Center, Hill said, and he is allegedly linked to a second burglary and an attempted burglary last month at two local businesses.

The 16-year-old faces charges of malicious mischief, two counts of burglary, attempted burglary and theft.

Hill said a rough estimate of damages includes $240 for the phone and $1,200 for the broken window and glass case.
