Tickets available now for Rotary’s 51st Salmon Bake

For the 51st consecutive year, the Rotary Club of Sequim’s annual Salmon Bake returns.

The longtime tradition comes to the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., on Sunday, Aug. 11.

The meal and music go from noon-4 p.m. with a raffle item table available along with community vendors, pies, and nonprofit displays.

Music plays throughout the event with The Dukes of Dabob playing the best of Dixieland and the Cat’s Meow entertaining the crowd with Great American favorites.

Visitors can choose from a salmon meal cooked over an open alder fire by a number of Sequim Sunrise Rotarians or a pulled pork sandwich meal. Children 12 and under may purchase a hot dog meal at the door for $5 as an alternative.

Discount tickets can be purchased up to the day before the event from Rotary Club of Sequim (noon) Rotarians, at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Office, the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA, Thomas Building Center, Beal Carpet and Drapery and/or online at facebook.com/sequimnoonrotary for $16. You can also call 360-775-5820. Purchasing your ticket the day of the event costs $18.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Boys & Girls Club, Sequim youth activities, local charities, Rotary service projects, including the Adaptive Bike Program, and teacher classroom scholarships.

Internationally, the Rotary Club has partnered with other Rotary clubs to provide clean water for school children in the Philippines, clean water and sanitation for several villages in Guatemala and assisted disaster victims worldwide through Shelterbox. Members support Rotary’s Polio Plus Program to eliminate Polio in every country on earth.

Organizers encourage visitors to be aware of ongoing construction on Fir Street and to enter the parking lot from Fourth Avenue.
